Long story short, you have to come here. Tomodachi is located in a snug little area, with a very comforting setting. My group came here later in the evening on a Monday, so the place wasn't so packed. We ordered the garlic edamame, miso cod, sauté mushroom, oyster sauté, and dynamite from the hot appetizer. Everything, and I mean everything, was so good. Everything had flavor and nothing disappointed. The service from the waitress was also amazing. She was very attentive to us. I drove down from Ventura, and this place was worth the drive.
I'm mad at myself for not making this my staple sushi spot sooner! My boyfriend took me here last week because I was craving sushi pieces and wanted to go my reg spot but he convinced me to come here and I am so glad I did! We sat at the sushi bar with the sushi chef Nobu and he whipped up the most delish rolls, the freshest sushi pieces, and amazing sides! The sushi pieces are good size and smooth like butter, no essence of fishiness which my boyfriend is extremely picky about. Overall, great pricing and nice cute location as well. Parking is super easy, in the same lot as Vons.
Best fish period. Tomodachi does the simple things to perfection. I never waste my time anywhere else for sushi in the Conejo Valley. Hedai, Masa, Nobu, Slyvie are family.
My boyfriend and I have been here three times in a very short amount of time. Their sushi is very good. We both really like how the special rolls aren't drowned in sauce; sometimes that makes it seem like they're trying to hide lower quality fish. I really love their sesame salad dressing and the salmon especially is to die for (but I'm biased). I tend to get anxious in dim, loud restaurants but this restaurant has a great atmosphere. I actually feel quite relaxed and it's never overly loud. Even when it's busy, we are always quickly seated but I'm sure it helps that it's just the two of us as opposed to a family or larger party. Everything we've ordered so far has been delicious and accurate as well. The prices aren't terrible either. We will be back for sure!
This is good sushi. The sushi chef Koshi was from Japan and very amiable. Sweet shrimp out of this world, Oyster was 3 smalls in an order, nice treatment. The toro was like buttah. We enjoyed this immensely. We've been bouncing around since Yuki Hanada died. This is comparable quality. Friendly service.
